Sir Sandford Flemming Park

Walking the Frog Pond Trail yesterday was a treacherous walk indeed.  Several people we passed had ice-gripper cleats on, definitely an asset on the ice.  The snow on this popular trail was well tapped down and then melted and frozen – an excellent recipe for an icy trail.  We crept along and eventually walked partway back on the road.  It is a great trail and probably not too difficult normally, although there were some steep parts – particularly challenging on the ice!

This trail is one of several in Sir Sandford Flemming Park.   This park, bordering the Northwest Arm, is easy to reach after negotiating the armdale  rotary and following Purcells Cove Road.
