Rainbow Haven – seaweed on the beach

Walking the beach you never know what you will find.  On Sunday past there were sparse patches of sponges and seaweed.

Rainbow Haven Beach Provincial Park on the Atlantic is a short drive from Halifax (about 10 km).  The sandy shore makes an easy stroll.  The shore curves from the Atlantic Ocean inland along a narrow channel emptying Cole Harbour to the ocean.  The map locates the beach.

The late afternoon sun casts soft light over the shore.
