Walking to Annapolis Royal – Part II

Centrelea to Tupperville

Yesterday we continued our trek to Annapolis Royal via the old rail bed.  Wow, what a straight section.  We went through alders, willow and poplar where former fields surrounding the track location fill in with vegetation.  In other locations the fields are open – wonderful scenic, pastoral meadows, old marshlands that have been dyked and farmed for hundreds of years.

In one location an area farm has planted cranberry plants.  These tiny plants covered a large field equiped for modern irrigation.

By the time we were done our evening walk the sun was setting on the Annapolis River.

The map page has updated locations and gps coordinates for the walk to Annapolis Royal from Bridgetown.
