Wow, the first snow storm of the season this past weekend! In its wake the storm left 30cm of snow. Driving was poor, so it was a great time for a neighbourhood walk. Down the road from our place and at the end of a short dirt road there is a woods-road (no-coordinates because it is not ours to share) that climbs the South Mountain in the Annapolis Valley. The dog and I didn’t go far, since I am recovering from a cold, but it was great to be out. – And an especially good excuse to visit the neighbourhood.
These woods, typical of the South Mountain, include spruce, fir and oak easily identified even covered in heavy snow.
