No rain today, but lots of wind – a great day for a walk on the beach. Lawrencetown beach is covered in cobbles after the tail ends of several hurricanes this fall; very uneven walking but the waves were great (seas of 3-5 meters today). The offshore wind created lots of spray flying off the tops of the waves rolling in to shore.
This popular beach is a provincial park. In addition, the beach at Lawrencetown is known for Nova Scotian surfing, (surf Lawrencetown; Scotia Surfer) but it is also a super beach for walks, over 1.5 km long and right on the Atlantic Coast. Really excellent photos of the beach can be found on flickr.
